Shingle Roofing Options

There are so many different types of “shingles” on the market, we are going to simply touch on the most common for a commercial application.

Asphalt Shingle.  This is your “regular” shingle.  Composed of asphalt material and covered with small granules, the asphalt shingle has been around since 1901. 

3-Tab. A variation on the asphalt shingle, 3-tabs look like regular shingles but there are actually 3 “shingles” per piece.  This allows for quicker installation as there are 1/3 the number of pieces to be applied.

Architectural Shingles. Architectural shingles are a significant upgrade from asphalt shingles.  Also known as laminated or dimensional shingles, architectural roofing shingles are a very high-quality roofing option.

Tile.  Frequently, clay tiles may be utilized in buildings with a Southwestern or Caribbean style.

Metal.  Metal shingles are most frequently made from zinc, copper, or aluminum.  Offering the ease of shingles with the strength of metal, this is a win-win for many commercial business owners.
